Sheila is greatly missed

Welcome to my Website!

This site is all about my cats Sheila, Jamie and Nina. Here you will find their tales, photos and everything about them.

Sheila was a tabby, dark brown with lighter spots from reddish to beige. Jamie's a black and white bi-color. Funny thing is that both of them have a similar spot on their upper lip, Sheila on the left and Jamie on the right, almost as if they were meant to be together. They're not related though. Sheila was 4 years old already when Jamie was added to the family and at first things didn't go well. Sheila, used to her freedom and being queen of the house wasn't too keen on company. But after a while the little kitten (Jamie was 8 weeks old) stole her heart and she kinda adopted him. Jamie really sees her as his mother.

I was worried about Jamie for a while after Sheila passed away, but he seems to be coping. Looked for her everywhere for a week but realizes now she's gone. Now I just have to realize that too

*UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE!* I've done IT! I got a new kitten. Her name is Nina and she was born march 13th 2007.

Nina is a white and gray bi-color. Her belly and 3 legs are white, her tail gray and her back, her right hind leg and head mixed white and gray. She's 9 weeks as she comes into this little cat tale and so far (been 3 days) she and Jamie are getting along. ... Well the tolerate each other that is  Luckily no fights so I guess they’ll be fine together.

Let´s also tell a little something about me; My name is Kira, 39 (17-01-1970), Stargate Atlantis fan, big cat lover and sci-fi lover. I live in a mid-sized town called Zeist in Holland.

I always loved cats. My mom gave me a photo of me and the cat they had when I was 2 years old. Thomas O'Malley. Yup after the big red cat from Disney's Aristocats. He was a white cat though . He ran away when we moved when I was almost 4. Then came Zwervertje, that's Dutch for little Rambler when I was 5,5, this time a red tomcat. But he had to go when my youngest brother was born. It was to a good family down the street so I got to see him for years. But after that we never had a cat again at home.

But when I got a place of my own I was given a gift by a very dear friend and became the caretaker of Sheila on 26th of May 1996, daughter of a cat of an employee that worked for her husband. The 15th of July 2000 our company of 2 was joined by Jamie, a son of her own cat Rakker (Dutch for Rascal).

As mentioned 3 weeks ago my sweet Sheila passed away due to kidney failure . Me and Jamie are getting along, we are slowly getting used to the change. But Sheila has been a big part of my life for more than 10 years so even though I'm starting this site after she's gone, there's no way I will not let her be a part of it.

Anyway enjoy your stay at my site, read the stories, view the photographs, check out my ramblings in my journal ... oh and please come back to check the "All About .." sites regularly. Changes will be made there more often than this main page. Also new pages might be added, so you´re welcome back any time. And if you want, please sign my guestbook to leave a note on what you think of my site.

You can also become their friend, check out their diary and see their video´s  on Catster;
